Photographs of Wellsville in Allegany County after the severe flooding caused by Hurricane Agnes in 1972. Wellsville had the most expensive damaged site from Agnes: the new hospital.

Hurricane Agnes swept across the Middle Atlantic states causing heavy, constant rain in June of 1972. Houghton College (now Houghton University), situated on a hill, was not flooded, but the surrounding village was.

Tintypes, black and white photographs, and color photographs of the towns, countryside, and daily life in the southern Genesee Valley river valley region from the late nineteenth to the late twentieth centuries.
