Library Accessibility Audits

Description: Lynn, Jeff, Kate (and service dog Gem) visited five libraries in the SCRLC region to conduct accessibility audits, with a focus on digital inclusion. They will share an overview of the audit process and some of their top findings and recommendations for each library to make their buildings and, in particular, their digital spaces more inclusive.

  • Gain ideas for things you can implement quickly to make your library and your computers more accessible and inclusive

Effective Health Communication and Health Literacy

Raising Awareness, Eliminating Barriers, Changing Culture: Making the Arts More Inclusive

Description: Gaelynn Lea will share her personal experience of living, learning, loving, and working as a touring artist with a disability. She will discuss the barriers disabled artists and audience members still face and highlight activism and social efforts that can help further the goal of equality for all. Gaelynn will discuss why disability education, coupled with inclusion in the arts are so important, and how the concept of Disability Pride can help transform our culture. She will close the workshop by sharing how the arts can be made more accessible online and off in order to facilitate this cultural shift.

Universal Design for Libraries
