This guide will give you resources to use for Wellness information within your library as well as in your community.

Description of the Healthy Libraries, Healthy Communities Project

Healthy Libraries, Healthy Communities is a 6 month wellness project hosted by South Central Regional Library Council and partially funded by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Mid-Atlantic Region. The primary goals of the project are to increase healthy behaviors and to improve health literacy. Information will be communicated online and in-person through a series of presentations, social media tools and email.

Components of the program include:

  • Kick-off event with Dr. Brian Wansink: From Mindless eating to Mindlessly Eating Better
  • Monthly Wellness Webinars

  • Participation in Active for Life
  • Winner's Circle final event with Dr. Sandra Barker: Human-Animal Bond and Your Health
