Getting a Library Card

We encourage everyone to sign up for a library card at their public library!  It's free, easy, and allows you to check out books, DVDs, video games, econtent, and so much more.  Many of our libraries have a "Library of Things" that includes items like musical instruments, puzzles, microscopes, just to name a few.  Visit or call your local library for more information: Finger Lakes Library System Member Libraries

Privacy

The Finger Lakes Library System can see the following information pertaining to student activity via Public Library CONNECT: date and origin (Sora) of checkouts, active and suspended holds, district or school, title metadata (author, ISBN, etc.), and obfuscated student IDs (if IDs are enabled by the public library).

Reporting and Statistics

Finger Lakes Library System tracks monthly circulation statistics from OverDrive.  If your library has a school in its service area that is using Public Library Connect, you may count those circulations.  For public libraries that share school districts, please divide the number of circulations accordingly.

This project is administered by the South Central Regional Library Council.
