Staff Guide: 2024 FLX Library Road Trip: Keeping Statistics

Everything you need to get the show on the road!

We're Counting on You

We want to make keeping FLX Library Road Trip stats a breeze!  In your starter kit you'll find tracker sheets for July and August.  While you can create your own sheets that make sense to you, you'll want to make sure you're counting the right stuff!

Please submit monthly tallies to Heidi using these Google forms:

July Road Trip Stats

August Road Trip Stats

Here's what we're counting and how we'll do it:

The tracker sheet is organized by date.  Please record the number of FLX Library Road Trip visitors who come through your doors each day. No need to distinguish who is starting the road trip (i.e. picking up a map) or who is already Road Tripping (i.e. want a stamp.)  A simple hatch mark works.  Some folks may be participating in groups so be sure to county everyone in the group.  Count up your daily totals and put in the box.  It makes tallying up the weekly (and then monthly) numbers easy.

At the end of the month, please record the total number of:

  • FLX Library Road Trip visitors
  • Maps* you distributed
  • Souvenir 1 Stickers* you distributed
  • County Stickers* you distributed
  • Magnets* you distributed

*Hint:  It might be easiest if you count the numbers of these items you have remaining at the end of the month and subtract that from your starting amount.

For example:

You started with 50 maps.  At the end of July you have 30 maps left.  Record 20 as the number of maps distributed.

Starting numbers:

Maps: 50 (except AUB, TCPL, CORT, SENF.  You all started with 100)

Sticker 1: 50

Magnet: 25

County Stickers:

     Cayuga County Libraries: 35

     Cortland County Libraries: 63

     Seneca County Libraries: 63

     Tioga County Libraries: 39

     Tompkins County Libraries: 50

Bonus:  If you want to track new library card sign ups you can but it is not required.

Important:  We checked with the NYSL--The FLX Library Road Trip is not a program.  You cannot count this as a program for Summer Reading or the NYS Annual Report

This project is administered by the South Central Regional Library Council.
